OUR STORY

Probiotic Boost/ Cherry's Gourmet is a Los Angeles based company that specializes in fermented foods such as raw organic sauerkruats, raw organic kombucha, fermented probiotic sodas as well as non-fermented foods such as low simmered grass fed/ organic bone broths, and coconut based paleo/ vegan treats.  We started from humble origins in 2011, selling kombucha and sauerkrauts at our very first farmers market in Burbank, California.  Since then, we have greatly expanded our menu options and have products available at 7 local farmers markets in the greater Los Angeles area, in addition to small local cafes, coffee shops and crossfit gyms.  

 

Because of our expanded product line, there was a need to create a 2nd line of foods that didn't feature the Probiotic Boost logo as not all of our products are fermented (i.e. Bone Broth, Cauliflower Rice, Vegan Cheesecakes, etc.)  Behold: Cherry's Gourmet was born.

So there you have it: we now have 2 different brands of products:

 

1) Probiotic Boost is made up of everything we sell that is fermented: raw organic sauerkrauts, raw organic kombucha, & cultured probiotic sodas.  

2) Cherry's Gourmet makes up the rest of the non-fermented products we sell: nourishing low simmered beef marrow & organic chicken bone broths, cauliflower fried rice, coconut based paleo/ vegan desserts, and lots of other goodies to come!  

Everything we sell is made in our certified manufacturing facility, from scratch, and produced/ bottled by hand.  We take great care in sourcing our organic ingredients, as most of our ingredients are purchased directly from the growers/ farmers at our local farmers markets.  

OUR CREW

Cherry Ng: Founder/ Head Chef/ Studio City Farmers Market 

Cherry, a professional musician turned Entrepreneur/ Chef, moved to Los Angeles in 2009 to further pursue her music career.  A multi-instrumentalist, she plays the saxophones, flute, clarinet, oboe, keyboards, bass, & vocals.  Cherry has travelled extensively throughout North America, Europe & Asia, performing with a variety of artists in many different genres of music including funk, pop, jazz, motown, and has performed with various pit orchestras in musicals & production shows.  A jazz & classical trained musician, Cherry relocated from Vancouver, Canada to further her music career, but was sidetracked upon moving to LA by the amazing quality of fresh, locally & sustainably grown foods found at farmers markets here in Southern California.  Having never set food at a farmers market in Canada, or had any knowledge of where real food comes from, she was hooked from the get go.  Cherry apprenticed with a local fermented food maker, working 14-hour days, 6 days a week to learn the ins and outs on how to make the highest quality nourishing and fermented foods, and after a year of intense training, she moved on and founded Probiotic Boost.
